Out & About
The Isle of Arran is often referred to as ‘Scotland in miniature’ due to its geology which divides the island into Highland and Lowland landscapes, from the jagged granite peaks of the north, to the rolling hills and rich farmland in the south.
The island is 20 miles long and 10 miles wide, making its rich diversity of fauna, flora and landscapes so accessible.
Whether your interest is adventure, golf, geology, wildlife, flora or food the Isle of Arran has plenty for you to do, more of the problem will be deciding what you can bare not to see or do!
Whether you fancy an adrenaline fuelled day climbing Arran’s highest peak, Goatfell, following Arran’s Coastal Way or circumnavigating the island’s coast road by bike, or prefer a quieter day exploring Arran’s beaches, distilleries, cafes and eateries, shops or craft studios, there is something for everyone to do on the Isle of Arran.
Have you ever seen a golden eagle, red deer, otter, red squirrels or seals? all are present on or in the seas and skies around Arran!
